Mk1 escort gt carb flooding dilemas

Yes folks the GT has ground to a halt, this time its the float bowl, made of brass its now a brass tea bag, soaking up loads of fuel and refusing to do its job properly.
Had it soldered up at a local shop , who didnt charge me , nd now i know why, its still soaking up fuel.
Looking like a motorcycle one may have to adapted.

Escort Mk1 Brown Bomber

Escort mk1 gt replica in the making.
Swapped the carb on the Escort Mk1 the other day and went for a run over to see marks escort in the bodyshop.
It ran ok then one of the plugs gave out,swapped a new one and it ran ok again, same day it got filled up with gasohol, which left me with an overflowing carb.
Done something to the float level or cut off valve inside float chamber.

Initial plans for this escort is a 1300gt replica with oval lights and gt spec 1.3 crossflow.
Its still running the original spec trim 100%, think it was a super.
Its currently wearing 195 50 13 s on 7 inch steels, next step is a drop in ride height.

Ford Escort mk1 restored in Thailand

Went over to see my old green escort sold to Mark a few months ago.
Its looking really nice in Vista orange and should be on the road in a month or so.
Mark had some pics of the mexico arches and the bodyshop did a good job of fabricated them .
Cant wait too see it on the road...

Slow progress on the blue/white escort rs mk1
6 point weld in cage fitted, mk3 cortina gearbox fitted, 4 branch header pipe and 2 inch exhaust with 1 rear box, new brake pipes, just have to wire up the engine again.

Not the prettiest of things and will take a bit of money throwing at it.Mistu engine but the book is ok, will be taxing it this week.
No plans yet for it, drums on front dont bear well even with the current engine,so theres a starting point
Paint is really bad and it also needs some welding, bit of a i didnt see that lampost dent in the rear panel, other than that its a straight car.

RS 4 spokes 6 inch et20 114 pcd purchased today

Had a look at these wheels today and couldnt resist buying them.
I know there not exactly the same as RS, but you would have to have the real ones sitting next to them to notice.
Next what tyres?
195/50s or 175/60s ?

Escort Mk1 front 1/4 bumpers!

These GRP bumpers weigh next to nothing, and more importantly, they look like the genuine part too!

Ive seen a pair that have been chromed somehow? sprayed or plated, im not sure, will find out the finer details on it shortly.
